...The laboratories taught techniques necessary for that course. Organic Chemistry was the class I learned to use instrumentation. It taught me how to use NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance), IR (Infrared), and UV-Vis (Ultra-violet-visible) spectroscopies. (read more)
...I have four children (2 boys, 2 girls), with the youngest one in college. I am comfortable teaching all ranges of ages and abilities. I find that students are usually just stumbling over an initial 'speed bump' that I work to help them get over. (read more)
...I have sat in and observed Algebra classes for my teaching degree and find it to be my favorite field of mathematics. As I am entering my Senior year of College, I have taken many different math classes throughout my High School and College years. These classes include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Calulus 1, Geometry, Introductory Statistics, and Inferential Statistics. (read more)

Eventually forced to select a major, James graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Control and Dynamical Systems.
