Later in my teenage years, I started working as an assistant teacher at a day care center in New York, where I later became the head teacher of a prekindergarten class for the last 6+ years. ...I have had a great deal of experience with children who are deaf, have learning disabilities, Aspergers, autism, Down's syndrome, etc. I have had experience with these types of needs at Vanderbilt University and in the teaching field. I graduated with a masters degree in deaf education and in that program I had to take three semesters of American Sign Language. (read more)
