...Instead of memorizing a list of facts, I believe allowing oneself to understand why and how something works is what enables enjoyment of the subject. And once the "why" and "how" of the subject are understood, good grades and test scores will follow naturally. ...In high school, I followed up by tutoring all manner of mathematics classes from basic prealgebra to Calculus II. Simultaneously, I was teaching at the local Kumon center for all age students at all levels of math, from elementary arithmetic to higher level calculus and vector analysis.
