...It's important to make sure that you understand the concepts, not just memorize procedures, because later math classes build on them. When I work with a student one on one, we can discover what individual difficulties the student has with the material. Sometimes a student hasn't solidly grasped a concept that was covered earlier, so we need to back up and fix that before we can move on. (read more)
