At Clemson I took a Study Skills class in order to become a better tutor, especially for students with learning disabilities who may need a more strict set of study skills. ...I teach the subject and then, in turn, have you teach me. Learning by doing rather than learning by watching or listening is a much more powerful way to learn and the information will stay with you longer. This system has worked well for me on various levels including teaching one student that was diagnosed with Asperger’s and several others that had ADD or ADHD. (read more)
