...Too often, people see their own lack of understanding as a lack of intelligence. In my experience, it usually means that the teacher explains in a way that doesn't make sense to the student or the student can't see a reason to care about the subject. I've dealt with both of those problems in my own early education. (read more)
...Because math builds so much upon itself throughout school, once you've hit a road block on a particular topic it can be challenging to get back on course. I think this is largely why math is so often students' least favorite subject. However, I am of the firm belief that math can be an enjoyable experience if you're willing to put the work in.
