...I challenge my students by showing them a challenging problem each day to help push them to the next level. When teaching, my methods are to show and explain the step-by-step process of solving the problem after explaining important vocabulary and ideas. I then worked on some guided examples before having the students attempt examples on their own, where we then compared answers. (read more)
...Although I never sought my teaching credential(s), I found during my tutoring job that I not only had a talent for it; but also enjoyed it thoroughly. I believe the part I like best is being able to put the lessons in terms the student can understand. ...I enjoy working with numbers because they always have a single correct answer, which you arrive at by following mathematic procedures. Currently my full-time job is working as a paraprofessional in a self-contained Autism room with 11 students, 3 kindergarten, 6 first graders, and 2 second graders.
