...I majored in English at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, or, as we like to call it, "UNC by the Sea". I started teaching soon after graduating. My first teaching job was at a local community college teaching ESL, but I also taught GED prep, Freshman Seminar, Anger Management, and several levels of freshman English while I was an instructor there. ...As an adult, I have learned how important basic math skills are in working environments so am also dedicated to helping students understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and geometry. I have a life long passion for reading and am never without a book. Because of this, I can articulate to students how important it is to become good readers. (read more)
I have a master of science degree in telecommunications technology from the University of Maryland University College. This of course means that I have done a bit of math. I have passed the praxis exams I and II for teaching English at the middle school and high school level. (read more)
