I think it's really important to understand the fundamentals of a subject before you advance to more complex material, and I emphasize this a lot in my teaching. ...I was the graduate TA for a double-sized (90 students) section of English 301, a gateway course including literature, rhetoric, and exploration of several genres. In addition to assisting with the course, I also delivered two lectures on comics as a genre and study skills.
