...My book was published by HarperCollins in 2020. It won the Dolores Huerta Prize from the International Latino Book Awards, and the Hornblower Prize from the New York City Book Awards. I meet my students where they are, at all levels and ages, for a specific assignment at school or a longer-range course. (read more)
...Every class I taught was a combination of in-class work and private sessions. I have a Masters in Composition and Literature, graduate work in ESL instruction and have worked extensively with Russian, Arabic, and a variety of Asian and Chinese speakers. ...Late in High School, I discovered I also love Public Speaking. I competed three years in Forensics (Speech and Debate) on the High School level, and another three on the collegiate level.
