I grew up in a poor area where education was not a priority. While many of my friends were quitting high school to support their families, I saw education as a way out of poverty. I took a true look at the importance of education while I was in college and studied criminal justice and the cycle it plays among lower income families. (read more)

I was born and raised in Japan with a basic comprehension of Japanese culture and the language. Upon returning to the United States, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts on Political Science for Baylor University. After five years of studying Art and exhibiting on my own, I entered the graduate program in Art at the University of Oklahoma where I obtained an MFA in Painting and Sculpture. (read more)
