...While studying for my degree I spent a year working at Granada Hills Charter High School teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Statistics, and trigonometry and helping students who were struggling in the classroom get their grades up. ...Since finishing my Ph.D., I have continued to tutor students in math and science in my free time. In all of my tutoring experiences, the most rewarding part was always seeing the moment when a concept clicks inside a student's brain. I love to see the sense of accomplishment they feel once they've finally mastered the problem or the concept that they had been struggling with. (read more)
As a student at Penn State, I was a peer tutor at the Learning Resource Center for 3 years. Here, I tutored in Algebra, Calculus, Physics, Differential Equations, and Electrical Engineering. My work here earned me the Outstanding Tutor Award in Engineering, voted on by my tutorees. (read more)
