...Because I'm so passionate about the subject, I am patient with those that I tutor because I want them to be successful and excited when they grasp something. I love seeing that look of understanding when something 'clicks' and a student finally gets what they have struggled to learn. Math, with its abstract concepts, is a difficult subject to learn, and can be difficult to teach. (read more)

...It's important to balance mathematical content understanding while still seeing the big picture. The questions on the SAT don't say "solve for x" anywhere near as often as you might expect; really, it's all about being flexible and able to apply your content understanding in various ways! My approach is all about finding the right mix between focus on content and exploring its applicability. (read more)
...Combinatorics was one of my favorite subjects in college and I enjoyed taking three courses on it in the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics program. I wrote my senior thesis in combinatorial design theory. I took and was a TA for advanced combinatorics classes in graduate school. (read more)
