...I can come up with examples of most types of problems on the spot to create more practice on a topic a student is struggling with. Through my teaching and tutoring I have learned many ways to explain a problem and can find the best way to explain a concept to a student. ...Calc may be a bit confusing, but if you know the right tricks it can also be kinda fun...kind of like a giant math puzzle. I received an 800 on my SAT math when I took the exam and have helped students prepare for the SATs in two different countries! I personally have ADHD as does my daughter, and so I have worked with doctors for years to learn study habits and techniques. (read more)
...I find that working one-on-one with a tutor makes learning Geometry fun, and can uncover the specific weaknesses that need correcting. Usually, a student makes terrific progress in Geometry if you work with them slowly and clearly, making sure they understand the building blocks. Geometry is one of my favorite subjects, and my students find it fun to study it with me. (read more)
