...They don’t see any practical purpose in what they are learning. Part of it is how the curriculum is taught; some of it has do with understanding this generation’s student culture. ...Throughout elementary and middle school, I competed in math competitions. In high school, I received an 800 in the SAT math section, an 800 in the SAT Subject Test for math, and a 36 in the ACT math section.
