...As a teacher, I am rigorous in terms of expectations, but playful and relaxed with the learning process and environment. I believe that good learning comes from a comfortable and supportive environment that at the same time challenges students. ...Although I did well in most school subjects, I struggled in others because I have cerebral palsy with a visual-perceptual component. Thus, I believe I have a unique understanding of what it means to be gifted and perform well, but also what it means to struggle and need help.
