...C was the first programming language that was taught in my computer science curriculum at The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Engineering. In college we used C to read data from files and sort numbers using sorting algorithms like Quicksort. I compiled these projects using the gcc compiler and ran the programs via the UNIX command line.
