...I worked for many years as a literacy tutor, and know how to teach the fundamentals beginning and intermediate readers need to know. I believe in the phonics method, rather that "whole language" or similar strategies. Students need to be able to recognize patterns and the building blocks of words and sentences, and this is what I teach. (read more)
...I completed my student teaching at a local high school, where I taught 9th, 10th, and 11th English. Currently, I teach 8th grade at a Middle School in Pittsfield, MA.
