...I engaged in mathematics proofs, and studied logic independently for philosophy, this included taking a couple courses in logic itself, e.g, Symbolic Logic. I was a teacher's assistant for a semester of finite math at my University. ...I also graduated with a Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics. I believe having a degree in the content are you are teaching is really important to be able to go above and beyond teaching the what to do and why you do the steps you do. If students understand the why of mathematics they can then apply it to different situations outside of textbook problems. (read more)
...I also love to take that knowledge and teach it to others so that they also learn something new every day. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, and it definitely makes me a better teacher.
