...I really didn't like it, but I've come to realize that's partly due to the way I was taught. I memorized a lot of steps to solve problems, but no one ever gave me the "big picture" of why we were doing these things. Since becoming a homeschooling parent, I've had to reteach myself math, and I've come to realize that the best way to really learn something is to teach it to someone else. (read more)
...I believe everyone is capable of learning anything they want to know, sometimes it just takes teaching the topic in a different, more interesting way. I believe all children learn in different ways and in order to learn to the best of their potential teachers need to find the best way to teach each child as an individual.
