...I always appreciated my professors who would truly take the time to understand different learning styles, and I strive to be inclusive. In the past I have helped other students in an osteology lab, where we would go over all the bones in the body. Additionally, we practiced things such as age, sex, and ancestry identification. ...Looking back at that year I see that I was really enthusiastic and well intentioned, but I was unprepared to really help the children learn anything being taught in the class. Today I know that helping students learn requires knowledge of the subject matter. But, it also requires knowledge of yourself and a true heart for the student's progress and success. (read more)
