...While I may be working with the student to improve their proficiency in a certain subject, I am more focused on fostering an environment of psychological safety. I believe such an environment allows the student to be comfortable with asking questions and admitting vulnerability in the subject. ...I frequently work with students that struggle to tackle the algebraic pieces of those questions and the various topics relating to it. Further topics in chemistry actually require the application of calculus so I also work with students in understanding the math behind those topics as well.
