...I did pre algebra in 7th and 8th grade as well, in an advanced setting, in which I took the Regents in 8th grade. Currently, I finished the calculus 1-3 sequence in college and my knowledge of algebra definitely applies because it's the basis of all math. ...When we work together on a problem, I make sure my student is engaged and curious in finding solutions. I always encourage students to show their work and often ask them to "teach it back" to me to make sure that they understand the steps in the problem solving process. Over the last two years I have been teaching mathematics at the highschool level.
