...Spent many years teaching calculus series at university. In my opinion, Pre-Calculus is the most difficult math class offered at the high school level. The trigonometry portion presents many new and difficult concepts, but the algebra portion takes everything from Algebra II deeper making everything very complex and solving problems you don't really see any reason to solve.
