...I retired from developmental optometry in 2011 and I started tutoring shortly thereafter. When my student asks, "Why is trigonometry important?" I can answer that trigonometry is used to calculate the path of a light ray as it is refracted. Trigonometry explains why the bottom of a swimming pool appears closer than it really is. (read more)

...I helped coordinate and teach lessons at an after school STEM program at a local middle school. The program proved to be a large success and was granted funding from the city. The chemical engineering curriculum at USF required strong knowledge of higher level math such as calculus 1, 2, and 3, differential equations, and linear algebra. (read more)
