...Some consider Math and Engineering to be mainly formulas and concepts to be memorized. My suggestion is that the different formulas and concepts should be considered tools to use. A carpenter has many tools, and learns to use them effectively to complete the task at hand. (read more)

I wrote my district's 5th grade science curriculum and ran an after school STEAM program for grades 3-5 at Sage College as part of the Help Yourself Academy.
