I focus a lot on theory as this is the most important aspect of calculus and it's the most fundamental tool to solve any of the problems. ...My tutoring sessions are very student-led-- my job is not to provide answers, but to lead students to find them on their own. I feel like 90% of my work consists of me saying, "Great job! Now what?" Because ultimately, the goal of tutoring is for students to feel confident that they know the steps to take when faced with these problems on their own. (read more)
