if the student is vaguely or slightly familiar with the subject matter, I find that when the student tells me how to do the problem, this proves more effective than me teaching any material. (read more)

...When helping students with Word, I find out what it is that they really want to learn - and focus on that. If we were to try and cover everything, it would quickly become overwhelming.
