...I love explaining math as a language with its own parts of speech, sentence structure and vocabulary. There are many ways to count things and mathematical reasons for why formulas are the way they are. I give students an intuitive sense for what the formulas mean, in addition to useful applications of the formulas. (read more)

...I then went on to work for another 4 years after that in the country as an instructor, translator, interpreter, etc. The year I graduated from college, I achieved the N1 certification of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test), without studying specifically for the test.
