...As a piano student at the MM level, I was required to become proficient in sight-singing and interval training. My ear training courses in the Master's program required that I sing a given melody in any key using solfege syllables, i.e. do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti in any key. The key to sight-singing is recognizing the intervals and being able to vocalize from the piano. (read more)
