...Venetian Method – Using the Venetian approach, a medium value tone is used as the underpainting, usually somewhat brownish in color. Then opaque glazes of white and umber are applied for the shadows and middle tones creating a monochromatic image. As many color glazes as needed are then added to complete the painting. (read more)
