...If you’re curious about a subject, I’d be happy to share my knowledge of it. However, I have often found that subject-specific tutoring is not what secondary students need the most. Executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, and communication, can often be bigger barriers to academic success than anything else. (read more)
...The ability to reason through a scientific question to find the answer is always more helpful than simply knowing any individual answer. I like to build on what people already know when trying to teach them more. My strongest subject, Geology, is very visual, and I like to show students images, diagrams, and real examples to help them understand the concepts of various geological sciences. (read more)
