...I also find real-world applications for the Calculus concepts so students see how relevant the math is to their lives. When I teach math concepts such as Geometry/Math 2, I try to make it more engaging for the student by connecting the math concepts to other subjects. Furthermore, having students come to my office hours will give me the opportunity to discuss their future plans and how I can help them to reach their goals.
