...I majored in pure mathematics, but I was originally a computer science major, so I have taken both a discrete math course for computer scientists (which included combinatorics) as well as a traditional intro proof course on sets. ...For all 4 years of college, I conducted research with a neuroscience-related lab, leading to thousands of hours of lab experience and one journal publication. I also went into college knowing that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine.
